  • Massachusetts high school and college students aged 17-22 who share the values of the Democratic Party.

  • No, participation is free of charge. Meals and materials are provided. Travel and lodging, if needed, are not covered.

  • Applicants are reviewed based on civic interest, leadership potential, and commitment to Democratic values.

  • Business casual attire. Dress to represent yourself and your school well.

  • Limited travel stipends or carpools may be available.

  • Absolutely — we welcome all emerging leaders who care about civic engagement.

  • Delegates will be recognized during the Convention and have an opportunities to support and experience critical Convention operations. 

    Delegates will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the democratic process in action!

  • Yes, all participants completing the Institute receive a Certificate of Leadership and Civic Engagement.

  • Yes, educators are welcome as chaperones or mentors.

  • Join your local High School or College Democrats chapter and sign up for BluePrint 2026 updates.

  • BluePrint 2026 is a leadership development program designed in partnership with the Massachusetts Democratic Party. The endorsement helps confirm that applicants are actively engaged in their school, campus, or local Democratic community and are committed to participating fully in the program.

    An endorsement does not require you to be a well-known leader or hold an official title. 

    The endorsement process helps ensure a strong, engaged cohort and supports meaningful connections between emerging leaders and the broader Democratic community.
